Inclusion and Minigolf: Lusogolfe at the 2025 Youth Paralympic Day

Lusogolfe took part in the 2025 Young Paralympic Day, held on October 11th at the Matosinhos Sports and Congress Centre, in Portugal, in an initiative promoted by the Portuguese Paralympic Committee. The event brought together hundreds of young people with disabilities and nearly twenty Paralympic and Deaflympic sports, offering a unique opportunity to experience different adapted disciplines in an atmosphere of learning, social interaction, and personal achievement.

Minigolf as a Sport for Everyone

With an area fully dedicated to Minigolf, Lusogolfe — in partnership with Minigolfe da Costa Nova and Minigolfe.pt — brought to Matosinhos one of the most accessible and versatile sports of the programme. The company, recognised for its role in developing Minigolf both in Portugal and abroad, presented its specially designed Minigolf lanes, accessible to people with different types and degrees of disability, ensuring the full participation of all young players, regardless of their physical or cognitive condition.

The initiative demonstrated how Minigolf can be practised in inclusive settings, free from physical or technical barriers, providing a safe, engaging, and enjoyable sporting experience. For many participants, it was their first contact with the sport — one that quickly sparked enthusiasm and curiosity.

Physical, Cognitive, and Social Benefits

Throughout the event, dozens of young participants tried Minigolf on Lusogolfe-manufactured lanes designed to be accessible to wheelchair users as well as athletes with visual or motor impairments.

Minigolf proved to be a highly inclusive activity, capable of stimulating fine motor coordination, focus, balance, and self-confidence. Beyond the physical and cognitive benefits, the sport also promotes essential social values such as respect, patience, and teamwork.

Its playful nature further contributes to a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere, where sport becomes a vehicle for equality and social integration.
